Exercise Physiology

Paediatric exercise physiology is a relatively new and evolving field that supports the prevention, assessment and management of chronic conditions, disabilities and diseases that affect children's health. By studying the physiological mechanisms underlying these conditions, our Playfit Therapy exercise physiologists can develop evidence-based interventions and guidelines to best support overall health and well-being.

Regular activity and movement has been shown to be effective in promoting heart and lung development, muscle strength and endurance, motor skill performance and immune health. It can also have a positive impact on cognitive function, psychosocial development and emotional regulation. At Playfit Therapy our team of expert exercise physiologists have the skills to facilitate group based sports and activities that can support the development of confidence, self-esteem, social skills and relationships among peers.
